HoliMont SkiScape - Sunday, January 3rd at HoliMont Ski Resort in Ellicottville, NY. A full day of skiing and snowboarding fun to benefit Kids Escaping Drugs. Registration ($65) begins at 8 a.m.; visit www.ked.org for more information.

Journey to a Cure Gala - Saturday, January 9th at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel in Niagara Falls. The 10th annual gala to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will feature great food, auctions, and entertainment. The History of Music in Buffalo - Sunday, January 10th at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. Part of Forest Lawn's Sunday in the Cemetery series, the presentation features music librarian Raya Lee and music from organist Bruce Woody. Tickets are $15; call 716-885-1600 for more information.

WGR-550 Whiney Awards - Tuesday, January 12th from 6 to 10 p.m. at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Transit Rd. in Depew. The Whiney Awards honor four of the best callers to WGR's Sports Whiner Line, and will also features an All-Star Celebrity Roast of former Sabres enforcer Rob Ray. Nickel City Cluster Dog Show - Friday through Sunday, January 15th through 17th, at the Hamburg Fairgrounds Agri-Center and Expo Building. A number of shows and trials for all breeds will take place, plus educational events. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. all days; admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children and seniors. WNY RV Show and Sale - Friday, January 22nd through Sunday, January 31st at the Hamburg Fairgrounds Agri-Center and Expo Building. Preview 2010 motorhomes, 5th wheels, travel trailers, and more; special financing and pricing will be offered. Hours are 1 to 9 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays; admission is free. For more information go to www.the-fairgrounds.com.

Denim and Diamonds 2010 - Friday, January 29th at 6 p.m. at the Church at Asbury Hall on Delaware Ave. The 3rd annual benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute features food and drinks, music from Nick Lite, a silent auction, and more.
